when I looked inside the f holes, I could see two large bolts running through the neck block
towards the neck....I imagined a bolt running from the back of the heel toward the fingerboard...
turns out someone had already tried that... this poor neck had three big pieces of metal in it...

I took it to three different luthiers, got rough estimates, and made my decision
it was going to cost more than I had anticipated,
and there were still unanswered questions as to what we would find inside....
